Helicoptero Workshop

August 23rd - September 13th | 2pm - 4pm

4 SESSIONS | 2 HOURS | 1 MOVE

@Park Lafontaine - Chalet Robin des Bois

THE PEAK OF HELICOIDAL ACROBATICS

WHAT IS HELICOIDAL ACROBATICS ?

The helicoidal motion is a fundamental acrobatic principle—a spiraling synergy where the upper and lower body twist in relation to one another to create torque and dynamic release.

This coiling and uncoiling through the central axis becomes a powerful engine for movement across space.

In this workshop, we’ll explore how to harness that torsion to build the HELICÓPTERO—a striking and fluid expression of the helicoidal form—and develop a range of other patterns that emerge from the same spiral logic.

Movement Approach

WHo is this for ?

This workshop is for movers who want to deepen their understanding of acrobatics—not just how to do a move, but how it’s built from the inside out.

We’ll explore the layered construction of movement through the nervous system, synergistic chains, referent configurations, spatial patterns, and affordances that shape action and perception.

The only requirement: you should be able to perform a cartwheel comfortably, with your hips fully passing over your head.

FAQ

    • Movement Circle is a space for embodied practice.

    • We offer classes, workshops, and retreats that explore mobility, strength, coordination, creativity, and self-awareness — through the body.

    • It's not a gym, not a dance studio — but something in between and beyond.

    • Helicóptero develops powerful rotational awareness, full-body coordination, and a deeper understanding of how torque, timing, and tension create dynamic movement.

    • It’s not just a move—it’s a gateway to many acrobatic patterns.

    • You don’t need to be an acrobat, but you should be able to do a cartwheel comfortably, with your hips fully passing over your head.

    • Sessions will be held outdoors at Parc La Fontaine, just in front of chalet Robin des Bois.

    • The workshop runs over 4 consecutive Saturdays, with each session lasting 2 hours—for a total of 8 hours of focused practice and exploration.

    • Wear comfortable clothes you can move in.

    • Bring water and curiosity — that’s it.

    • That depends on your current level and learning pace.

    • Some participants may land the move, others will get close—but everyone leaves with the key tools, progressions, and embodied understanding to continue developing it with confidence.

    • Yes.

    • We offer private sessions tailored to your needs.

    • You can explore these options on the Private Coaching page.

    • The workshop is taught in English, with French support available if needed.

    • It’s relaxed, focused, and open.

    • You won’t find mirrors, loud music, or pressure to perform.

    • Everyone comes as they are.

    • We explore with curiosity, take our time, and learn through doing — together.

    • You’re supported, not judged.

    • It’s a space where people can challenge themselves, connect, and feel at home in their body — whether you're a total beginner or have years of experience.

Meet the teacher

Toufic is the founder of Movement Circle Montreal and holds a BSc in Exercise Science. His journey began with sports, six years of fitness, and a growing love for improvisation and dance.

A pivotal shift came when he discovered Ido Portal’s Movement Philosophy 8 years go. He went on researching and practicing Movement with Marcello Palozzo in Austria, later joining the first cohort of the Human Movement Studies program.

Through both academic study and lived experience, Toufic continues to cultivate spaces where movement becomes a path to connection, expression, and self-realization—a journey he walks alongside his students.

“Movement is life’s original language—before words or stories. To move is to listen, to trust, and to surrender to what’s already within.”
